A complete website redesign and migration from WordPress to Next.js, focused on improving user experience, enabling online car rental bookings, and strengthening SEO performance in a highly competitive market.

The Challenge
The existing WordPress website suffered from severe design and usability issues. Visual elements were misaligned, images overlapped text content, and text readability was significantly compromised. On mobile devices, the browsing experience was quite problematic, creating friction for potential customers, leading to extremely low conversion rates. Most critically, the website lacked the ability to handle car rental bookings, which was the main business objective of the platform in the first place.
The Solution
A full redesign and platform migration strategy was implemented to address both immediate usability concerns and future scalability requirements. Next.js was selected as the foundation due to its performance advantages, SEO capabilities, and flexibility for future integrations. Given the competitive nature of the car rental market in Nairobi, SEO optimization and performance efficiency were prioritized. The website was integrated with Sanity CMS to enable seamless content management, allowing the client to easily update and maintain dynamic content without technical dependencies. A custom booking workflow was also developed, enabling users to select vehicles and submit booking requests, triggering automated email confirmations for both the business and the customers.
Project Process
Week 1 – Redesign & Structural Improvements
After project introduction and discussion, we kicked off Week 1 with redesigning the primary landing page and supporting pages to improve visual hierarchy, readability, responsiveness, and overall user experience across devices.
Week 2 – CMS Integration & Content Architecture
On the second week, we worked on integrating Sanity CMS to support dynamic content management, ensuring scalability and ease of future updates without reliance on developers.
Week 3 – Booking System & SEO Optimization
On the third week, we worked on a simplified booking workflow and onsite SEO enhancements, improving search visibility and enabling functional booking capabilities.
